The Works

The flint farmhouse at hatfield is a 17th Century  structure with a 19th century knapped flint facing. This building requires special attention and consideration when being intervened with because of its particular facade.  The building ideally will have a total restoration internally. Before those that can happen the exterior of the building has been focused on. Structural and cosmetic works are essential to this buildings success. The maintenance of the flint façade is crucial to prevent further damage to the building and the maintain the houses unique character.

The Site

The building sits within a group of farm buildings. There is a flint barn behind the house, where similar works take place to maintain the flint façade. A few sheds and a studio also occupy the site. Each of these buildings is part of the wider plan for this property.
